Hablando de Cosplay con Marco Dal Castello.

Desde Italia llega a mi blog el cosplayer Marco Dal Castello, una referencia de talla internacional que hizo parte del Cosplay World Masters. Entrevista en inglés y español:

1. When did you start cosplaying and what was your first cosplay? I started my cosplay career in 2009 during Lucca Comic&Game, one of the best fair in Italy. I started with the cosplay of Squall Leonheart from Final Fantasy 8.

1. ¿Cuándo empezaste a hacer cosplay y cuál fue tu primer cosplay?
Empecé mi carrera como cosplayer en 2009 durante 'Lucca Comic & Juego', una de las mejores ferias en Italia. Comencé con el cosplay de Squall Leonheart de Final Fantasy 8. 

2. How many cosplays have you done yet and which one is your favorite?
I cosplayed a series of characters from over 25 animes, movies and videogames titles including Howl's Moving Castle, Mars, Saint Seiya, Gankutsuou, Paradise Kiss, Romeo for Juliet, Final Fantasy 8, The Phantom of the Opera, Dorian Gray... One of my favorite is the cosplay of Sephiroth from Final Fantasy Crisis Core.

2. ¿Cuántos cosplays has hecho hasta ahora, y cuál es tu favorito?
Yo hecho cosplay una serie de personajes de más de 25 títulos de anime, películas y videojuegos, como el castillo de Howl en movimiento, Marte, Saint Seiya, Gankutsuou, Paradise Kiss, Romeo por Julieta, Final Fantasy 8, El Fantasma de la Opera, Dorian Gray.
Uno de mis favoritos es el cosplay de Sephiroth de Final Fantasy Crisis Core.

3. Tell us about the experience of being in the Cosplay World Masters Eliminatory 2014.
Cosplay World Masters is a very important experience for me and I was really impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the organizers. Before and after my performance I did not have difficulty in being able to stage my performance. I had know many wonderful people during this adventure. And I hope to come the next year again.

3. Háblanos de la experiencia de estar en la eliminatoria del 'Cosplay World Masters 2014'.
Cosplay World Masters es una experiencia muy importante para mí y me impresionaron la amabilidad y atención de los organizadores. Ni antes ni después de mi actuación tuve inconvenientes de cualquier índole que afectaran mi presentación. Pude conocer a mucha gente maravillosa durante esta aventura. Y espero poder participar el próximo año. 

4. What is the virtue that every cosplayer should have? Why?
A cosplayer should have passion and the desire to share work with others person because for me this is the secret to work harder and better.

 4. Cuál es la cualidad que todo cosplayer debe tener? Por qué?

Un cosplayer debe tener pasión y deseo de compartir su trabajo con los demás porque éste es el secreto para trabajar con más dedicación y mejor.

5. What are your favorite locations for cosplay photoshoots? And, do you like your photos 'natural style' or with a bunch of effects?
My favorite locations are old abandoned buildings or medieval villages. I like bunch of effects if I do unnatural characters like vampires or monsters but for the other characters I prefer natural style. 

5. ¿Cuáles son tus lugares favoritos para sesiones de fotos de cosplay? Y, ¿Te gusta la fotografía "estilo natural" o con un montón de efectos?
Mis lugares favoritos son viejos edificios abandonados o pueblos medievales. Me gusta usar efectos cuando mi personaje es un ser fantástico como un vampiro o monstruo, para el resto de personajes opto por un estilo natural.

 6. What are your favorite anime movies or series?

The best one is Howl's Moving Castle and all the Studio Ghibli's films. Others: Gankutsuou for the particularity of the drawings, Steamboy for the story and for the steampunk style. 

6. Cuáles son tus películas o series de anime favoritas?

Para mí la mejor es El Castillo Ambulante y luego todas las de Studio Ghibli. Otra es Gankutsuo por su estilo particular de ilustración, Steamboy por su historia y por integrar el estilo steampunk.

7. How do you prepare your character interpretation for conventions and contests?

The first step is creating the sound, and then I try to do the scente. If I have time I try to check the scene and see if some parts can be improved. 

7. ¿Cómo preparas la interpretación de los personajes para convenciones y concursos? 

El primer paso es crear el sonido, luego trato de hacer el escenario. Si tengo tiempo reviso todos los elementos para ver si algunas partes se pueden mejorar.

8. Do you prefer doing cosplay alone or couple/group cosplay?
I prefer couple because is easier to create a scene. I try to avoid participating in large groups because organizing is often difficult.

8. Prefieres hacer cosplay individual o cosplay grupal/en pareja?

Prefiero el cosplay en pareja porque es más sencillo crear un ambiente. Intento evitar participar en grupales con mucha gente porque el tema de la organización se torna complicado.

9. How many wigs do you have and which one is your favorite?
I have about 15 wigs and my favorite is the Sephiroth's wig or the nordic blonde wig of Francisco(Romeo for Juliet) because I love the blonde hair. 

9. Cuántas pelucas tienes y cuál es tu favorita?
Tengo alrededor de 15 pelucas y mi favorita podría ser la de Sephirot o la peluca rubio claro de Francisco (Romeo for Juliet). La razón es que amo el cabello rubio.

10. And to end this interview,¿What does 'cosplay' means to you?
For me, cosplay means to have fun and share your work with other people. 
10. Y para terminar la entrevista, ¿Qué significa 'cosplay' para ti?

Para mí, el cosplay significa divertirsey compartir tu trabajo con otras personas.
